Secret of the Woods is an animated series that I am helping bring to life. While I was originally cast as a voice actor, I have also begun to assist the creator with design.
Logo Design
The series follows two innocent characters exploring a new world. Because of this, I wanted the logo to invoke whimsy and creativity. I targeted a fun, playful type and bright colors to bring this idea forward. I added a slight leafy texture to the full-color logo both add movement and subtly reinforce the forest/exploration idea.
Poster Design
To celebrate the two-year anniversary of Secret of the Woods, I worked with a freelance artist, Helen San, to create a character poster for one of the characters I voice. I laid out what I was looking for in the art, and she did a fantastic job creating a beautiful background and character pose.
From there, I set out to convert the artwork to a mock movie poster. I implemented the logo I created and applied many 'traditional' poster features such as the cast, tagline, rating and more. I tweaked the original artworks color and added some orange particles to round out the design. Lastly, I added a subtle pentagram behind the character - a nod to something mysterious about him.
