While working at the California Secretary of State, I was tasked with creating a new brand and logo for the Elections division.
Logo Design
The clients weren't quite sure what they were looking for in a logo - simply something welcoming. I felt the best approach would be recognizability. I chose the e for the easy connection to election. From there, I wanted to include additional swoosh shapes to add to the playfulness of the logo, granting the welcoming feel the clients were looking for. This, paired with all lowercase, pushed the logo even further. Lastly, I used red, yellow and blue for colors as the primary colors can create all other colors, showcasing the inclusivity our elections provide to all California citizens.
